Life Is Rough Right Now

But I need to just pick my self up and get back into gear.  I can do this.

Chef says I don’t do enough work in my group? Says I don’t work fast enough? Says that I do not keep on task?  Guess Chef really cannot tell the differences between myself and the other girls.

I’m the one who covers their asses, I’m the one who actually stays on task, I’m the one who does the most work while their slacking asses goof off and fuck things up.

Seriously the way he talked to me was horrible and….I just cannot even handle it right now.

Haven’t been getting enough sleep with all this school and work, I realized this when I accidentally cut off the tip of my left ring finger…I think I need to take a step back and figure a better way of working 40 hours a week because this lack of a day off could very well kill me.

Also I got so much crap from the guys about my finger…they seem to forget that they are always doing dumb things like cutting themselves and getting burns.  Oh well.

Okay, I want to hear everyone’s thoughts.

You’re on a team of 3 people for work/school, you all have the common goal of achieving your task in an acceptable time and with outstanding presentation, but one person on the team will not listen to everyone else’s thoughts and ideas, will not communicate with the team through out the task and even goes so far as to ignore your boss/teacher. What do you do? Do you attempt to talk it out even though your plea goes unheard or do you take it up with your superior?

I gave up today.  She was too much to try and work with.  I lost it when she decided to stand up and walk out in the middle of team planning.  So I went to chef today, asked him what to do to try and work things out with her, ended up getting her in trouble.  Cannot say I am happy with this but also I was at a loss and really at the end of my string.  I think I was a day away from being close to pulling my french knife out.  I really didn’t know what to do.

Something From My 16 Hour Weekend

First off I impressed myself by not attacking the people I work with.  Now I work in a horrible kitchen, no one in there is trained for any of the work that is done.  So maybe I am one of those culinary snobs but honestly what I found made me gag.

It was one of the rare days when I actually got to cook something on the stove that wasn’t just getting reheated.  I seemed to make a bit of a mess so being the polite one of the kitchen I went to clean it up.  What I found in the inners of the stove was horrible, the thing was a few more moments of grease build up away from being a fire hazard.

I made noise about this but no one listened.  The guy who was hired just to clean the kitchen at the end of the day told me this, “If I was to clean everything that ought to be cleaned when it should be…well I would be here till midnight all the time.”  I was dumbfounded, asked him if he realized it would be a lot easier to clean it all when it should be so that he didn’t have days, or weeks, or god forbid months of grease to clean up and if he realized it was a fire hazard.  He then tried to lecturer me about being young and dumb.

Long story short, I spent 30 minutes scrubbing that stove till it shined, lined it with foil for easy clean up and made sure who ever used it next would not end up a burn victim.  I thought about leaving a note saying “Clean your fucking mess”  but decided I’d like to keep my newly found 40 hours and no risk getting fired.

Goal For this Week

Don’t fight.

40 Hours of Work a Week?

Bring it.  I don’t care that I am only getting paid for half, if I can finish my co-op hours I am going to be the happiest graduating certified chef of my class!
